Meet the Administration

Ginny Harvey
Ginny is a native of Rochester, NY, and has moved back and forth across the country quite a few times. With a Bachelor's degree from Stanford, and a Master's degree from Columbia, she and her husband Michael moved back west to set up their first home near Seattle. After working as a pediatric Physical Therapist for many years, Ginny gave up the paid working life in favor of homeschooling and life aboard a sailboat with 2 young daughters. The daughters are good sailors and well-traveled teens now, and the boat was sold in favor of a house, but the homeschooling remains a constant. Having officially moved to Norfolk in 2005, the family started getting to know the local homeschooling scene. Together with Melina Winterton, Ginny founded HSoBX in 2007 in order to provide a secular inclusive alternative to the predominantly Christian homeschooling groups they found in the Norfolk area. She enjoys teaching science and math, with occasional forays into history. . Read more about Ginny.
