Mission Statement

The mission of Out of the Box (HSoBX) is to provide quality secular enrichment programming in a safe, loving and family centered environment to homeschoolers of all religions, ethnicities, ages, and orientations. This programming is inclusive and open to anyone who wishes to participate.

HSoBX follows the S.E.A.R.C.H. (Southside Embracing All Religions and Cultures in Homeschooling) group motto:

“We are a loosely organized group of families in the Tidewater, Virginia area who have homeschooling in common. We exist as a framework for networking, communicating and supporting each other. We are a very diverse group of people. We have homeschoolers of all shapes and sizes -- from religious to nonreligious, unschoolers to curriculum based, and everything in between. We do not endorse any one resource, method, curriculum, philosophy or religion over another."
