Margie Jones To All Instructors
Originally from South Carolina, Margie has lived in Virginia Beach since 2015. Prior to marrying into the Navy, she graduated from Salem College with a Bachelor of Arts in English and a minor in Communication, and earned a paralegal certificate from The Art Institute of Atlanta shortly afterwards. She spent the next several years working in the legal field before transitioning into Environmental, Health, and Safety. She left the workforce in 2013, while expecting twins, and is now a full-time parent-caregiver and mother of three.
Margie was thrust into homeschooling in 2020, and although it’s nothing she ever expected to find herself doing, she’s come to embrace it for its flexibility, which allows her to support each of her children's different educational needs. She feels strongly about making learning accessible for every student and encourages families to reach out to discuss any accommodations or modifications their learner may need.
Outside of homeschooling, parenting, and caregiving, Margie volunteers with The Apricity Hope Project and Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters. She enjoys playing with dogs, working in the yard, and eating chocolate chip cookies after the kids go to bed.
